Todays Malayala Manorama Daily shows a beaming group of people at the Bumper prize give away ceremony of Emmanuval Silks - the Indica Car keys. Interestingly the prize is given by Onapilly Muhammed Fauzi, a Muslim leader in the presence of hundreds of Muslims and the Partners of Emmanuval Silks and Mr. James Valappila of Valappila Communications also seen in the picture. The fact is evident that MM has printed this advt. to please JP as he is known in the ad circle. And Emmanuval on their part is calling this Onapilli Fauzi to please their Muslim patrons.
The previous couple of photos published by MM on the same event had another Valappila employee with a smiling face. JP made sure that his face and body be present to grace the next occasion.

It was the oldest problems with Malayalis and their accent when Malayalees speak other language particularly English. It is very prominent in the advt. Listen to the JOSCO Jewellery TVC. It clearly stand out when the guy utters the name of the Branches like TVM, Pattanamthitta etc.... sounds like they are some new places in Kerala. Most of the TVC's made carefully manipulates the English accent thinking that it will make them on par with the Phirangi English. The big advt. agencies in the North also customise the text and use some long lost malayalam words (words from the dictionary which malayalis never use in their daily speech) to give the advt. authenticity. The kids in advt. like Horlicks, Pepseodent etc. dish out some malayalam words which are a shame to the whole malayalis.
